The Alumni Board of Directors of the University of Miami Alumni Association is the governing body for the association and the more than 181,531 living alumni of the University of Miami. Service on the Alumni Board of Directors is on a volunteer basis and demonstrates the highest level of commitment from our alumni community. Members are ambassadors for the University of Miami and critical leaders in helping the Alumni Association implement strategic initiatives.

The Alumni Board of Directors is comprised of nine officers, three Alumni Trustees, 22 Directors, two Faculty Representatives, one young alumni leadership council representative, two student directors and more than 26 past presidents. The term of service and responsibilities vary by position. Board members are nominated by fellow alumni and University administrators each year. Select nominees are recommended by the UM Alumni Association Nominations Committee to the entire Alumni Board of Directors and Alumni Council for approval. Alumni Trustees are chosen separately by the University's Board of Trustees. The Alumni Board of Directors meets three times annually.
