Volunteers help the U build a better future

In any given year, around the country, thousands of alumni and friends volunteer their time and talents to enrich the University of Miami community. Our volunteers lend their expertise to our national boards, help organize nationwide outreach and community service initiatives, provide our students with mentoring and career guidance, and much more.

This April, as the University celebrates its centennial and looks forward to a future of boundless promise and possibility, we also mark National Volunteer Week. In spotlighting a dozen of our dedicated volunteers, the reasons they volunteer, and their hopes and aspirations for the University’s second century, we honor all volunteers.

“I hope that during the University's second centennial, that era's students and alumni reflect upon the accomplishments of the first 100 years and find as much awe and wonder as we do about those of our founders.” – Darren Dupriest, B.B.A. ’91
