From business and marketing in the world of sports to focusing on your mind, health, and wellness, the Audrey R. Finkelstein UM Experience welcomes ’Canes back to the classroom for an interactive educational series.
Join us for thought-provoking presentations and lectures by renowned faculty members Dr. Windy Dees (Show me the money! NIL and the business behind college sports) and Dr. Firdaus Dhabhar (A Hassle a Day May Keep the Doctor Away - Harnessing Good Stress and Minimizing the Bad) who are lighting the way through their innovations in research and teaching, making a lasting impact on our students, our community, and the world.
This year's experience features the Golden Ibis Society Celebration including lunch, spirits, and a special musical performance by students from the Frost School of Music.

Boat-Burning and Fireworks
All eyes will be on Lake Osceola as thousands of ’Canes gather for one of the University’s most cherished traditions: the boat-burning ceremony and spectacular fireworks show. Legend has it that if the mast of the boat falls before the boat sinks, the Miami Hurricanes will win the homecoming football game the following day. Passed down since 1956 from one generation of ’Canes to the next, this unique student-led tradition reminds us that the U’s indomitable, pioneering spirit still burns ever brighter.
