The UM Alumni Association is looking forward to hosting over 600 alumni and fans at the Official University of Miami Advocare Classic Pregame Celebration at AT&T Stadium. Tickets to the event sold out in just four days! With the completion of the Indoor Practice Facility and the return of several senior playmakers, the ’Canes are expected to do great things this year!
All Eyes on LSU as Sunday's Advocare Classic Approaches
After nearly eight months since they last played, the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes are set to face off against No. 25/24 LSU at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
All eyes will be on the ’Canes and Tigers as they kickoff their seasons on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Miami head coach Mark Richt knows his Hurricanes will face a daunting opponent when they take the field on Sunday against Ed Orgeron's Tigers.
Miami Hurricanes to wear new uniforms made from marine plastic waste in 2018 season.
For the first-time ever, in the first game of the 2018 football season, collegiate athletes will don sustainable uniforms, designed from recycled ocean plastic. The uniforms, made exclusively by adidas, represent a global effort to minimize ocean pollution and recycled materials.
Highlighted by elements of the ocean from top to bottom, Miami's new special edition adidas x Parley A1 football uniform is composed of over 70% regenerated ECONYL® yarn; a raw material transformed from fishing nets and other nylon waste intercepted in marine environments.
Not only will the Miami Hurricanes be making a bold statement with their new sustainable uniforms, as of Auguts 27th, the Miami x Parley A1 uniforms are being auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science to launch a fund for educational research.
