Alumni Marshals

The UM Alumni Association invites  alumni to be marshals at each Commencement ceremony. This honor is bestowed upon a select group of alumni who are loyal supporters of the University and continue to make meaningful contributions after graduation.             

Marshals enjoy a reception and receive commencement regalia, as well as an honorary medallion for their loyalty to the university. The program was launched 17 years ago during Dr. Donna Shalala's presidency.  Since its inception, the University has hosted over 700 alumni marshals.
